Our Values

Participatory Democracy

We believe that the more citizens are involved, the better public transit system we will have. We are pluralists. We believe that innovation is a function of democratic strength. We believe that democratic strength depends on cultivating collective awareness about issues. We believe that democracy goes beyond just voting for elected officials: democracy can and should take place at all stages of the policy-making process. We believe in leveraging 21st century technology to make this happen.

Equity

We believe that investments in our city should prioritize uplifting historically disadvantaged folks. We believe that everyone benefits from this approach. We recognize the role that transportation systems and mobility play in perpetuating inequality and injustice. We also recognize how powerful they can be in creating social inclusion.

Collaboration

We believe in the power and fulfillment that comes from partnership. We embrace difference and diversity. We believe that challenging dialogue and disagreement are natural, important, and productive parts of civic progress. We commit to acting in good faith and in building relationships founded on trust and mutual respect.

Disruption

We believe that we cannot stick with the socially and environmentally unsustainable status quo. We acknowledge that disruption is key to innovation and progress. We acknowledge that it is uncomfortable, but we believe it is necessary. We hope to contribute to dissolving our collective sense of attachment to the way things are, and foster hope about the way things can and ought to be.

We advocate for policy and investment that unambiguously pursues the maximization of all people’s ability to find fulfillment and joy in life.

We believe that an innovative transportation system that works for everyone depends on fostering collective imagination and vision.

We believe that positive change depends on decisions based on sound and rigorous data collection and analysis.
